Advanced Obedience Program:  

Program Duration: 8 Weeks (1 Hour per Week)

​

Program Description:
The Advanced Obedience Program takes your dog’s training to the next level! 🔥 In this 8-week course, we will teach your dog to respond to leash pressure while reinforcing the foundation commands you’ve already mastered in the Foundation Program. Your dog will learn to confidently follow commands like Sit, Wait, Down, Place, and Watch, but now with more duration and attention, even in distracting environments.

We’ll focus on Heel, Doorway Manners, and Polite Greetings, teaching your dog to remain calm and composed in social situations and while passing through doorways. You'll also see a big difference in your dog’s leash manners—no more pulling or dragging you down the street.

In the Advanced program, we’ll help your dog develop a higher level of engagement, response, and obedience. This includes building a stronger connection with you through the use of leash pressure, which helps your dog understand and respect your direction with commands. The added focus on duration will teach your dog to stay in position longer, whether that’s waiting at a doorway, holding a “Place” command, or staying in “Down” until released.

Important Note: By the time you join this program, your dog should already be on a feeding schedule (no more free feeding) from the Foundation Program. This is a crucial step in ensuring your dog understands they are working for their food, which will make training smoother and more effective.

This program includes email support throughout the 8 weeks and 1 annual tune-up session during boarding, to be scheduled with trainer Hilary Weber prior to booking any boarding stay. The tune-up session is available once per year for the life of your dog.

Imagine your dog walking calmly beside you, responding immediately to your commands, and staying in position even when distractions are around.

We’ll teach you how to engage your dog’s mind and empower your voice in situations that matter most—making walks enjoyable and creating peace of mind during social events. The duration focus will ensure your dog remains in the “work” mindset, no matter how long you need them to stay in position.

Required Items for The Advanced Obedience Program:

• Clicker

• Treat/Food Pouch

• Bed or Object for "Place" Command

• Herm Sprenger Prong Collar (no off-brands)

• Regular Collar

• Leash (Standard leash; no retractable leashes or harnesses)

 

 

Important: Completion of the Foundation Program is required before enrolling in the Advanced Obedience Program.
