Foundation Program

 

Program Duration: 8 Weeks (1 Hour per Week)

​

Program Description:
The Foundation Program is the perfect starting point for any dog, regardless of age or prior experience. 🐶 In this 8-week course, we’ll introduce your dog to essential commands like “Sit,” “Down,” “Place,” “Wait,” “Crate,” and “Watch,” as well as Polite Greetings and the crucial “Free” command to release them from training positions.

All of our training is built on balanced training methods, combining structure with motivation using your dog’s own food and high-value treats. 🍽️ High-value treats will be used occasionally to reward specific behaviors, but the focus is on developing reliable and consistent responses through your dog’s own effort.

This program focuses on basic obedience, helping you establish clear communication with your dog and a strong foundation for future learning. By eliminating the need for constant treats, you’ll teach your dog to respond for the value of the work itself—just as they would naturally in the wild. To ensure success, please start feeding your dog meals and eliminate free feeding before starting the course.

This program also includes email support throughout the 8 weeks, and 1 annual tune-up session during boarding, to be scheduled with trainer Hilary Weber prior to booking any boarding stay. The tune-up session is available once per year for the life of your dog.

• Clicker

• Treat/Food Pouch

• Bed or Object for "Place" Command

• Leash & Collar (Standard leash and collar; no retractable leashes or harnesses)
